Our LIFE story - History

LIFE was set up in September 2007 as a direct response to changes in Learning and Skills Council funding in Further Education colleges.

These changes meant that all students would have to be able to show signs of progression and would need to be able to progress onto an Entry Level One qualification.

This impacted heavily on adults with learning difficulties and disabilities as many were unable to progress to a higher level but due to the nature of their disabilities, they still needed the educational input to enable them to maintain skills paramount to their quality of LIFE.
